Established in 1948 in Denver, Colorado, Tolin Mechanical initially focused on mechanical refrigeration construction and services. Over the years, our offerings have grown into a full suite of services related to technical and mechanical systems.
Tolin also geographically developed in an effort to more effectively serve our clients. First in Colorado, with offices in Fort Collins, Silverthorne, and Colorado Springs. Later, at the request of clients that enjoyed the service experience in Colorado, we opened offices in Phoenix, Arizona, and Washington D.C.
Tolin Mechanical's portfolio includes a wide variety of commercial clients. Each of our clients, regardless of size, is treated with a level of professionalism rarely found in the industry. While our national presence has expanded through the years and been amplified through our parent company, Service Logic, our success is based on our deep local relationships and one-on-one interaction with our clients.

Tolin Mechanical has invested in a state-of-the-art service dispatch center and a customized tracking and tasking system. VoIP, Data, Accounting and CRM tools are integrated to deliver the consistent, high-quality service our customer base has grown to expect. These systems are the invisible backbone of our organization, ensuring simplicity and consistency for our clients while helping to free them of burdensome minutiae so they can focus on their core business.
Joined the company in 1980 as an Account Executive and became the Chief Financial Officer in 1985. Mr. Trefz purchased the organization in 1989 and maintained an ownership position until 2004. Mr. Trefz holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Colorado College, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Denver.
Joined the company in January 1978, held several accounting and administrative management positions within the organization, and became Senior Vice President in 2004. Ms. Locklin has 30+ years' experience in accounting, finance, process improvement, management information systems and implementation, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, expense control and strategic planning. Ms. Locklin has an Associate of Arts degree in Accounting.
Joined the company in October of 2006 as its Director of Colorado Sales and became Vice President in January of 2008. From May 1993 to October of 2005 Mr. Riedel held various sales and management positions with SIEMENS Building Technologies in New York, Massachusetts, and Colorado. From June 1988 to May 1993 Mr. Riedel was an associate of United Technologies in their Otis Elevator Division. Mr. Riedel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Boston University.
Joined the company in September 2005 as its Branch General Manager and became Vice President of Arizona in January of 2008. From 1989 to 1996 Mr. Kuvakos held several sales and leadership positions with The Trane Company in Chicago, Illinois. From 1996 to 2005 Mr. Kuvakos held various management position with York International in Chicago, Illinois and Texas. Mr. Kuvakos received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The Colorado Carbon Fund (CCF) helps individuals, business owners and event planners measure, reduce, and offset their carbon emissions. The CCF is the first and only statewide voluntary offset program in the U.S., focusing its support on greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction projects in Colorado that produce permanent, verifiable carbon offsets.

Beyond this, Tolin has many staff members who have LEED accreditation or are members of the Association of Energy Engineers. Their commitment to sustainability doesn't stop there as they utilize GPS devices within every one of their 140 fleet vehicles to reduce unneeded mileage. Tom Padilla, Tolin's Vice President of Colorado Sales, mentioned that after being inspired by Dave Joslyn, their first energy engineer, they've begun integrating "Advancing Clean Energy" license plates into their fleet, with a total of 46 so far! As we all know, this helps them get recognized for their sustainable efforts while also supporting carbon reduction projects throughout Colorado.
