Refrigerant Management
With the passage of the Clean Air Act in 1990, the refrigerant used in air conditioning and refrigeration systems has become an expensive and sometimes scarce resource. Costs will continue to rise and availability will become increasingly limited.
Tolin continuously works with its clients to provide cost effective services to minimize their operating costs while complying with all the requirement of the Clean Air Act of 1990.
Components of an effective refrigerant management program include:
- Licensing
- Equipment Certification
- Proper Documentation
- Review of Codes, Regulations and Standards
- Review of financial impacts
- Establishing Refrigerant Action Plans
Building Owners Action Plan
Tolin continuously works with its clients to provide cost effective services to minimize their operating costs while complying with all the requirement of the Clean Air Act of 1990 including:
- Proper Maintenance Practices: Properly maintain the air conditioning/refrigeration system. Repair refrigerant leaks immediately and completely. Implement proper refrigerant management service practices and utilize recovery/recycling equipment. Use only qualified service technicians to service your equipment.
- Proper Repair Practices: Install service valves and shutoff valves to minimize refrigerant loss during the servicing of the equipment. Install liquid receivers to isolate a system’s refrigerant when servicing the equipment.Install high efficiency purge systems on centrifugal chillers.
- Containment Program: Maintain, recycle and reclaim existing refrigerant and systems.
- Retrofit Program: Retrofit existing equipment to adapt to alternative refrigerants.
